Following Christ in Charity and Justice, our ministry strives to meet the needs of the poor and oppressed. There are several subcommittees at our parish but not restricted to: Mac's Kitchen; Pregnancy Support Centers; Kairos [prison ministry].
Mac's Kitchen prepares meals and food boxes to distribute from the church building every third Saturday and lunches every Monday. They also distribute food within the community. Another group works to help the Pregnancy Support Center with their fundraising efforts such as Walk for Life, Baby Bottle Campaign, Diaper Drive, etc. The PSC serves the counties of Amelia, Appomattox, Buckingham, Charlotte, Cumberland, Lunenburg, Nottoway and Prince Edward. Their main office building is in Farmville, but have satellite offices in Amelia, Appomattox and Buckingham (with one coming soon to Charlotte County). They serve those who have been impacted by pregnancy by offering lab-quality pregnancy testing, limited obstetric ultrasound, options.
